Our office has Languard 11 running on several of the Windows 7 workstations. Googling for this gives me no real information.
The GFI site says, 'Automate multiple OS patching, Scan for vulnerabilities, Audit hardware and software'. This doesn't tell me much and is a bit scarey. We have are a pension fund manager and we control all the software on users workstations. We have our own software for auditing.

What OS patching would languard be doing? What kind of 'vulnerabilities' would it be scanning for? What harware/software audits?Of particular concern, our software auditing new things appearing on workstations show Languard being download on one workstations today. The WIN7 on this workstations is a vanilla OEM version with no added 'freeware' included. Lanmanager was not already installed. What triggered Lanmanager to download?Is this software needed by Windows for some reason or can I kill it?
